I have had issues like this when using a generic memory card... Always use a good name brand card.

Thanks Smooth, as I stated above the problem hopefully has gone away since I have now taped the focus to hold in place at infinity. I have shot 3 tours since and have had no problems, keeping my fingers crossed.
Thatone1785, my card is a PNY optima pro 133x 4GB. I don't know much about memory cards but I think this is a name brand. Is it?

Well I have the issue again this time it's even crazier. You can see the problem in the image but it's not in the thumbnail!!
Anyone have any ideas??

I never had that problem, but I did have a memory card with a bad sector, and would get a "scratch" across my image from time to time. If you have replaced the card, it's time for warranty service. If the lens not being locked produced that, all the people that have bought that camera would have the same issue. If it was the chip then it would be in the same place every time it happened. So either card or buffer. Hope for the card. If you bought it locally, will the store offer a replacement?
ETA: if the zoom setting on the lens was changing during exposure, the entire image would be affect, and the distortion would be radial, not linear.

Thanks for the input Vince. As I was running it through my mind tonight I think I may have had the auto focus turned on with the focus taped in place. I will try it again as I will have to re-shoot some of the scenes. I'll keep you updated. I did purchase local just for this reason.

WELL IT'S BACK. Starting to have the same basic problem again with the replaced camera. Trying to narrow it down now. I downloaded using my Sony card reader and also with the USB cable. Sometimes it would show in one set but not in the other. Tonight I downloaded with the cable and I have the problem on an image but when I go look at it on the camera it's not there.
Anyone have any more ideas? Could it be one of the programs I'm using? I download into PS Elements5. Never had this problem with my other camera. I know it's not the card as I have used 2 cards and the same thing.
Any help or ideas will help.
